Growing Minds is looking for an experienced Psychologist with a strong interest or background in neurodivergence and autism to work with us on a flexible, freelance basis as our assessment service grows.

Growing Minds is a supportive, neuro-affirming service working with children, young people and families. We are passionate about providing thoughtful, individualised support and ensuring that families feel listened to and understood throughout their journey with us.

We are now looking to expand our clinical team and would love to build an ongoing relationship with a Psychologist who shares our values and would be interested in taking on additional work alongside their existing commitments.

The Role

You would work alongside our existing clinicians as part of our autism assessment pathway, reviewing individual cases and contributing appropriate psychiatric/medical expertise to the multidisciplinary assessment process which includes ADOS-based assessments.

Work will be offered on a case-by-case basis so there are no fixed weekly hours. The volume of work is likely to fluctuate initially with the potential for the number of cases to increase as Growing Minds continues to develop its assessment service. This could, therefore, suit someone working within the NHS, independently or in another clinical role who is looking for flexible additional work without committing to set hours.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we can offer

This is a self-employed/freelance associate opportunity with payment agreed on a per-case basis. There are no set hours, allowing the work to fit around your existing professional commitments.

Initially, case numbers may vary but we are looking for someone who is interested in growing with us rather than simply completing a one-off piece of work. As our assessment provision develops, there may be scope for a greater volume of cases and further involvement with the service.

Most importantly, you would be joining a small, friendly and genuinely passionate team that wants to provide families with a positive, respectful and clinically robust assessment experience.

Interested?

We’d love to have an informal conversation about your experience, availability and how working with Growing Minds could fit alongside your existing commitments.

Please get in touch with a brief overview of your experience and current work and we can arrange an informal chat.
