Service Care Solutions are pleased to present an exciting opportunity, working in partnership with one of our established providers, to recruit an experienced Clinical Psychologist, with specialist experience within the neurodevelopmental field. This is a permanent position based in the West Midlands area, available on a hybrid working basis.

Job Details
- Job Title: Clinical Psychologist (ASD / ADHD)
- Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time or Part-Time
- Location: Redditch, West Midlands
- Salary: Up to £66,500 FTE (negotiable depending on experience) + £150 Welcome Bonus, paid via Service Care Solutions
Role Purpose
The postholder will work primarily within the Children & Young People's ADHD service, operating within its agreed scope and clinical governance arrangements and contributing to pathway improvement. Opportunities may also arise to collaborate with colleagues in the linked neurodevelopmental services, particularly the ASD service, as these work closely together as part of a combined children and young people's offer.

Diagnostic assessments are delivered face-to-face at a central clinic base or a similar location within the region. The service is open to eligible school-age children and young people registered with a local GP.
The end-to-end pathway covers referral screening, pre-assessment questionnaires, initial contact, face-to-face clinical assessment, MDT diagnostic decision-making, report production, support planning and post-diagnostic signposting, with clinicians contributing to every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute specialist psychological assessment within ASD and/or ADHD diagnostic pathways, working within service SOPs and NICE guidance.
- Review referral information and supporting evidence, applying psychological knowledge to support triage and readiness decisions.
- Conduct structured clinical assessments as part of the MDT model, using validated tools, standardised measures and professional judgement to inform diagnostic formulation.
- Gather and integrate multi-informant evidence from home and education settings on developmental history, emotional and behavioural functioning, cognition and adaptive skills, in line with consent and information governance requirements.
- Lead or contribute to MDT discussion and diagnostic decision-making, providing clear, psychologically informed reasoning aligned to DSM-5 criteria.
- Identify co-occurring mental health, emotional, learning and developmental needs, escalating safeguarding concerns and clinical risk via appropriate governance routes.
- Produce high-quality psychological assessment reports and MDT contributions within agreed timeframes, using neurodiversity-affirming language accessible to families, schools and professionals.
- Communicate assessment findings sensitively to children, young people and families, contributing to outcome-sharing in line with consent and information governance requirements.
- Provide practical, evidence-based recommendations on emotional wellbeing, behavioural strategies, educational support and reasonable adjustments within service remit.
- Ensure records are accurate, timely and complete using agreed templates and documentation standards.
- Liaise with partner services (e.g. CAMHS, community paediatrics, education and support organisations) to facilitate safe onward planning and signposting.

Requirements
- Psychology qualification with active HCPC registration
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience conducting diagnostic assessments for Autism and/or ADHD in children and young people including DIVA, ADI-R and ADOS.
