Job Title

This is a full-time 8A (preceptorship) role for an individual interested in working in physical health; it is also available as a preceptorship, with funding for training provided. The role lends itself well to acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and compassion-focused therapy (CFT) approaches, along with motivational interviewing (MI) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

Job Description

The majority of the work (0.8wte) involves providing acute inpatient and outpatient psychology input for patients with Spinal Cord Injuries as a part of a wider multidisciplinary team. Support will include direct work with patients (face-to-face/video/telephone), and indirect work and consultation-based practice with families and staff. There will be scope to engage in training, service development, and research.

The other 0.2wte of the role will involve either an outpatient neuropsychology or outpatient pain psychology clinic, depending on the successful applicant’s preference.

There is also some flexibility with regard to working from home.

We believe we offer a competitive level of support for those wishing to develop in their careers in neuropsychology within our department.

  • Utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research in line with research and development objectives.
  • Provide management and supervision for trainee and/or assistant clinical psychologists; and non-clinical psychology colleagues as appropriate.
  • Work across organisational boundaries to ensure the delivery of coordinated psychological services for patients with complex specialist needs in hospital and the local community.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
