Help Shape What Psychology Looks Like In Social Care

This is an exciting opportunity to join Care Without Compromise at a pivotal stage in the growth of the service. As a healthcare professional embedded within social care, you will be able to take psychology directly into the places where people live and influence meaningful change from the ground up.

The role offers the time, continuity and autonomy to work holistically, build meaningful relationships and understand each person properly. You will help translate psychological formulations into practical, everyday support, working alongside the teams who deliver it and influencing the environments, relationships and systems around each person. This is where psychological thinking can lead to real, sustained change—and where you can see the difference it makes to people’s stability, wellbeing, independence and personal growth.

The Opportunity

Working across a defined portfolio of residential and supported living services, you will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation for adults with learning disabilities and complex co-occurring needs. These may include autism, mental health difficulties, trauma, complex emotional and behavioural needs, offending behaviour and associated risks.

You will work directly within our homes, alongside the people we support, their families, managers, support teams and external professionals. You will translate psychological understanding into practical changes that improve quality of life, promote independence and wellbeing, and reduce reliance on restrictive practices.

Drawing on Positive Behaviour Support and a range of evidence-based psychological approaches, you will combine direct clinical work with consultation, staff development and wider systems work. You will have real scope to influence care, supported through regular clinical and professional supervision from an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead for Wales.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
