Role Description
The Clinical Psychologist (Neuropsychology) will provide specialist assessment, formulation, and intervention for individuals with acquired brain injury and related neurological conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team, offering consultation, and providing clinical input to care planning, risk management, and service development. The Clinical Psychologist will also contribute to clinical supervision, staff training, and outcome monitoring to ensure high standards of care. This is an on-site role based in Wigan, with direct face-to-face work with service users, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Strong foundations in Psychology, with expertise in neuropsychology and brain injury rehabilitation.
- Skills in Psychological Testing, including neuropsychological assessment, interpretation of results, and report writing.
- Knowledge and experience in Mental Health, including working with complex presentations, risk, and co-occurring conditions.
- Experience in Clinical Supervision, supporting the development of colleagues and contributing to reflective practice.
- Counseling Psychology skills, including evidence-based therapeutic interventions and person-centered communication.
- Accredited doctoral-level qualification in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and eligibility for registration with an appropriate professional body (e.g., HCPC or equivalent) is expected.
- Experience in neurorehabilitation or brain injury services, and working within multidisciplinary teams, is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills, along with a commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development, are essential.
