Dorset All Age Eating Disorders Service (DAEDS) - Clinical Psychologist
DAEDS is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join the adult inpatient team at Kimmeridge Court. This is an excellent opportunity to support adults with severe and complex eating disorders within a service that values clinical excellence, compassionate care, and professional development.
Role Requirements
- HCPC-registered
- Appropriate post-qualification experience
- Strong formulation skills
- Confidence working in a dynamic clinical setting
Career Development
- The post can be commenced at Band 7.
- The timeline for level of competencies before being uplifted to Band 8a is 18 months, demonstrating:
- Training in x2 ED specific treatments (e.g., SSCM, MANTRA, CBT-E refresher, CFT for ED, FBT…)
- Proficiency in ED complex assessment process
- Proficiency in ED treatment plans including physical health risks, and general physical safeguarding.
Responsibilities
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will:
- Provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions.
- Work closely with a committed multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with DAEDS and associated community teams to ensure effective communication, continuity of care, and well-planned discharge pathways.

Key Duties
- Provide highly specialist clinical psychology input within the adult eating disorders inpatient unit.
- Offer advanced assessment, formulation, and intervention for individuals and families.
- Work with a high degree of professional autonomy, contributing psychological expertise to support safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Participate in MDT discussions, including regular participation in community MDT meetings, providing psychological formulations and recommendations to guide ongoing assessment, risk management, and care planning.
- Support MDT colleagues through consultation, supervision, and reflective practice, contributing to a compassionate, learning-focused team culture.
- Deliver evidence-based individual, family, and group interventions, and help create a psychologically informed therapeutic environment within the inpatient unit.
- Provide focused, time-limited psychological input during admissions, offering collaborative formulation and targeted interventions to support stabilisation, engagement, change, and readiness for continued work after discharge.
