Job Opportunity in Psychological Medicine
This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving department of Psychological Medicine in a large University Hospital NHS Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and able individual to provide clinical input to the renal and transplant unit at the Churchill Hospital Oxford.
About the Role
The Renal and Transplant Clinical Psychology service supports patients experiencing end-stage renal failure, living on dialysis, and moving towards and living with organ transplant. This includes kidney, pancreas, and intestinal transplants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing evidence-based psychological treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT), and Acceptance-Based therapies (ACT).
- Carrying out individual and joint assessments, and one-to-one psychological therapy.
- Developing skills in transplant assessments.
- Engaging in consultation, supervision, and teaching within multidisciplinary teams.

Skills Required:
- Proficiency in any of the psychological treatment models mentioned.
- Previous experience in a physical healthcare setting is desirable; a strong interest in developing skills in this area is essential if not.
- Ability to work across 6 satellite units across the region (Milton Keynes, High Wycombe, Stoke Mandeville, Banbury, and Great Western Hospital) with a car being preferable.
