Clinical Sales Specialist
Location: UK & Ireland
Reporting to: Country Manager, UK & Ireland
Sector: Medical Devices / Healthcare
The Opportunity
We are working with an established healthcare and medical technology organisation looking to appoint a Clinical Sales Specialist to join its UK & Ireland team.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role combining clinical expertise, sales and education, with responsibility for growing revenue and developing long-term relationships across a defined geographical territory.
You will work closely with healthcare professionals, supporting the adoption and effective use of the company's healthcare products and services, whilst providing clinical education and training to end users.
The role would particularly suit someone with a Critical Care nursing background who is looking to move into, or further develop their career within, medical device sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver agreed sales, revenue and profitability targets across your territory.
- Develop and manage strategic account plans to identify and maximise opportunities for growth.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with healthcare professionals, customers and key stakeholders.
- Provide clinical education, product training and support to end users.
- Conduct customer visits, presentations and product demonstrations.
- Identify and develop Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and product champions.
- Understand customer needs and provide appropriate clinical and commercial solutions.
- Manage customer queries, complaints and requests, ensuring issues are resolved effectively.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and customer information.
- Negotiate commercial and service agreements in line with agreed account plans.
- Work closely with internal teams including Marketing, Customer Services, Logistics and other support functions.
- Provide market intelligence and feedback to the wider sales and marketing teams.
- Support local distributor promotional activity.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant products, clinical developments, publications and market trends.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements, including MedTech Europe guidelines.
- Support Quality Management System activities, including complaint handling and pharmacovigilance reporting.
- Take ownership of your personal development and continually develop your clinical, product and commercial knowledge.

About You
Ideally, you will bring a combination of clinical credibility and commercial sales experience.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
- A Registered Nursing qualification, ideally with experience within a Critical Care environment.
- Experience within hospital or healthcare sales, preferably around two years or more.
- A Life Sciences, Nursing or equivalent degree/qualification.
- Strong understanding of the relevant clinical/therapy area.
- Experience communicating with healthcare professionals and clinical stakeholders.
- An understanding of the NHS and relevant healthcare bodies and processes.
- Ideally, ABPI qualification and knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice.
- A proven ability to identify customer needs and translate these into appropriate product and service solutions.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, influencing and objection-handling skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A commercial, customer-focused approach combined with strong clinical understanding.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.
- A full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK on a full-time basis.

You will be proactive, commercially minded and comfortable operating in a customer-facing environment. Just as importantly, you'll be able to build credibility with clinical professionals and communicate complex clinical and product information clearly and confidently.
The successful candidate will be someone who takes ownership, looks for opportunities to improve, shares best practice and is comfortable receiving and acting on feedback.
