- π° Salary: Band 3 Annex 21 (Β£29,103 - Β£31,409)
- π Contract: Fixed-term for 12 months
- β° Hours: 30β36 hours per week
Eligibility

Applicants should demonstrate attainment at SCQF Level 6 (Higher level) or equivalent, with an administration-related subject preferred.
Pay and Progression
As a trainee, your pay is determined under Annex 21 of the Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions. During your first year, you will receive 75% of the salary for the fully qualified role, with annual reviews ensuring fair and structured progression throughout your apprenticeship.
If successful, you will be appointed on a salary aligned with the Scottish National Living Wage.
On successful completion of the programme, you will move to the appropriate salary point for the role, reflecting your newly acquired skills, qualifications and responsibilities.
What Will You Be Doing?
Duties
As a Clerical Secretary Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting NHS services and helping patients access the care they need. Duties may include:
- Providing administration and reception support
- Producing correspondence, reports, meeting minutes and clinical documentation
- Booking appointments and coordinating patient care
- Organising clinics, theatre lists and clinician diaries
- Managing electronic and paper-based records
- Responding to enquiries from patients and staff
- Supporting meetings and service improvement activities
- Working as part of a busy team delivering high-quality services
