About The Role

As a Clinical Shift Allocator you will be responsible for:

  • Providing a comprehensive and confidential secretarial and/or administrative support to the locality/department to ensure the smooth running of the area.
  • Providing general co-ordination and allocation of the service/department to ensure the smooth running of the service. This includes maintaining confidentiality, supporting colleagues and managing the work of others.
  • Consistently deliver a “client-focused” service which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating excellent clinical and organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.
  • Displaying and performing high level of clinical expertise in both administrative and clinical role.
  • Assessing and reviewing patients in own area of competence and document accordingly.
  • Independently performing holistic Frailty assessments and review manual BP’s, ECG’s, Phlebotomy, risk assessments (including waterlow, MUST, pain scoring), amending care plans and completing Falls assessments.
  • Providing a high quality confidential and comprehensive administrative and clinical service.
  • Utilising advanced level IT skills to create reports, spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Prioritising own workload on a day-to-day basis to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Supporting clinical staff with the allocation of patients’ visits, adding relevant information to lone working task and appropriate textual visits, monitored and managed by Senior Nurses and Team/Clinical Lead.
  • Responsible for the day to day coordination of care to patients supported by the Rehab and Frailty Service by ensuring all care plans are allocated according to clinical skills and patient needs, Via SystmOne.
  • To ensure efficient deployment of staff with the appropriate skill set to meet the assessed needs of patients, ensuring high quality, safe, service delivery in a timely manner.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period.

High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,346 and a maximum payment of £2,270 per annum, pro rata for part time).
