Job Opportunity: Band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse
We are looking for experienced Band 5s who are enthusiastic, confident decision makers; those who are willing to learn and lead are encouraged to apply.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced Nurse to apply for a full-time post as a Band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse on Gold Accredited, Ward 10 Head & Neck, on a fixed term/secondment basis for maternity cover.
The ideal candidate would have complex airway management skills including Tracheostomy and Laryngectomy, however, this is not a requirement and the right candidate can gain these once in post. The candidate should be able to demonstrate high standards of patient care, have excellent communication skills, and be able to engage other staff in improvement initiatives to inspire the ward in their accreditation journey.
The post will be full-time working a mixture of long days and nights. Please call Sophie Graney (02476966590) if you wish to discuss your skills/experience in relation to airway management.
Applicants are invited to arrange a visit to the area prior to the interview if they wish to do so.
Secondment will be considered for internal candidates – If you are successful after the interview, you must obtain approval from your current line manager to accept the offer.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
