Role Overview
As a Band 6 Clinical Sister / Charge Nurse you would be responsible for supporting the overall daily management of the Nursing team within the Major Trauma Enhanced Care Unit, coordinating and leading clinical shifts, providing direct patient care and supporting the Ward Manager. You will also lead and participate with projects to enable us to give the excellent care we currently provide. The Band 6 role includes rotation onto nights and weekends. As the Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be ensuring the application of effective clinical practice of all staff so patients receive the highest possible standard of care.
If you feel you can bring excellent leadership and clinical skills, have experience of working within Trauma and Orthopaedics and would thrive working within a busy and challenging units then the post of Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse is for you.
This is a 12 month fixed-term/secondment post.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and be a clinical expert in patient care and operational decision making within the Major Trauma ECU.
- Work along side the team in a manner that promotes shared leadership and on-going professional development of self and others.
- Work collaboratively with the senior team to drive patient safety and quality forwards through the development and implementation of service and quality improvement projects.
- Work alongside the Ward Manager supporting with audits, absence management, roster planning etc.
- Deliver and coordinate care, ensuring that assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care is of the highest standard.
