The successful candidate will be able to organise and prioritise workloads effectively, support others in the team, and undertake both clinical and administrative elements of the role. You will also provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and learners working within the department.
The position will involve cross-site working where you will be rotated across multiple departments. The candidate will be based in North OPD, which consists of five main sites:
- King Edward VII and Parapet Breast Unit, Windsor
- St Mark’s Hospital, Maidenhead
- Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot
- Wexham Park Hospital, Slough
All OPD sites operate between 08:00 and 18:30, Monday to Sunday.
Main duties of the job
- To work clinically providing visible leadership, direction, coordination, and forward planning of Outpatient Department (OPD) services within the Frimley Health Outpatient nursing team.

- Demonstrate diverse expert clinical skills, clear professional and organisational values while overseeing the OPD areas.
- Manage service needs and provide support to the Senior OPD team.
- In conjunction with Practice Development (PD), you will assess and actively support the Registered Nurses (RN) and Health Care Assistant (HCA) to practice competently and develop within their roles to ensure a high standard of care and patient experience are maintained in line with the Frimley Health Strategy, Vision, and Values.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
