St Andrew's Birmingham is a 125 bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprises of eight units that cover medium and low security for both Men and Women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, easily accessible by road networks and public transport.

The role
You will provide visible, credible clinical and operational support to ensure patients receive safe, high quality, least restrictive care over our 24/7 clinical operations.
- Oversee ward practice, staffing, incident management, and regulatory compliance
- Support nursing teams and maintain robust communication and handovers over our 24/7 clinical operations
- Monitor patient safety, uphold professional standards, and ensure effective coordination across services
- Safeguard the patient experience and ensure operations align with St Andrew’s values, policies, and clinical governance requirements
- Be Duty Manager on Call whilst you are on shift and site
About You
- Experienced in managing clinical staff at ward level on a shift-by-shift basis
- Must have held the position of Deputy Ward Manager or above within the Charity for at least 6 months
- Hold a current NMC registration and a degree in Mental Health, Learning Disability or Adult Nursing or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible shift patterns as required
- Ability to identify and lead during a medical emergency or incident calmly with confidence and clear leadership
- High levels of resilience and confidence when faced with challenging clinical situations
- Substantial experience in making clinical and operational decisions
- Ability to analyse and interpret the Staffing Dashboard
- Ability to gather and interpret information and data concisely and accurately and report/escalate as required
