Job Description
Clinical Specialist, Surgical Sales Specialist: Spinal, Orthopaedic, Medical Devices
As our Clinical Specialist, you will become a trusted clinical partner to spinal surgeons and theatre teams, providing hands-on support during procedures and ensuring they get the very best from our innovative spinal technologies.
You will be joining a smaller, agile, and rapidly growing UK team where you will have real autonomy and visibility. This isn't a sales role, but we want you to understand the commercial environment, spot opportunities, and provide outstanding support that helps us retain and grow our customer relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will cover a wide territory across Yorkshire and the North of England with additional travel expected across the UK for cover. So expect to be driving here, there, and everywhere with ever-changing schedules.
Key Responsibilities
As our Clinical Specialist, you will provide expert clinical and technical support to surgeons and theatre teams during spinal procedures.
- Train and educate healthcare professionals in the safe and effective use of our spinal implant portfolio.
- Develop strong, lasting relationships with surgeons, theatre teams, and other key hospital stakeholders.
- Deliver product demonstrations and provide technical advice on the implementation and use of our technologies.
- Work closely with the commercial team, recognizing opportunities and providing excellent customer support to help protect and develop accounts.
Person Specification
Ideally, you will already have experience within spinal procedures, although we will also consider strong Clinical Specialists from orthopaedics, trauma, neurology, or associated surgical medical devices.
- You will be confident supporting healthcare professionals in a theatre environment and comfortable building relationships with surgeons and clinical teams.
- You will be organized, resilient, and able to remain calm when dealing with the pressures and last-minute changes that come with surgical case support.
- Importantly, you will have a strong customer and commercial mindset, taking ownership rather than seeing your position as purely clinical.
- You will be a genuine team player who enjoys working within a smaller organization where people muck in and support one another.

The Company
We are an international, privately owned specialist medical device company operating in over 60 countries focused entirely on innovative spinal technologies. Our UK operation offers something a little different from the larger corporate medical device businesses. We are a close-knit, hands-on team where people have autonomy, senior management remain close to customers, and everyone's contribution is visible.
Prospects
We will invest in your training and development, including extensive product training and practical exposure to spinal procedures. For someone who enjoys clinical work but would eventually like exposure to sales and account development, there is plenty of scope to develop both in the UK and Europe.
