Job Description
About the Role
This vacancy is for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the newly formed Care Group 2, which covers Older People and Rehabilitation across North London NHS Foundation Trust. This vacancy is based at Highgate East Mental Health Centre in one of the older adults wards. Previous experience of working with older adults and working knowledge of the UK healthcare system is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced Occupational Therapy assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
- Use advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide a diagnosis and to develop and deliver an individualized treatment programme.
- Manage your own caseload and a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
- Supervise, educate, and assess Occupational Therapy students, assistants, and Band 5 Grade Occupational Therapists.
- Provide specialized advice to other healthcare professionals in the specific clinical area.
- Undertake activities which contribute to own continuing professional development, which may include audit, evidence-based learning, and research projects to further own and team's clinical practice.
- Make recommendations to the Clinical Lead/Manager of the service for changes to practice by the team and this may lead to the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to the development of service protocols.

Additional Information
In order to meet the needs of the Trust, you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that falls under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
