Clinical Specialist Podiatrist in the High Risk Foot
Role Overview
Clinical Specialist Podiatrist in the High Risk Foot working across 2 acute settings in the Rapid Access Foot Ulcer Clinics and supporting the community based podiatry service in a variety of other settings.
Key Responsibilities
- To diagnose and treat patients with complex foot pathologies and provide clinical leadership to the High Risk Foot Team.
- To facilitate and lead on audits and clinical governance.
- Provide expert knowledge and skills in the treatment of the High Risk Foot.
- Be responsible for achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for diabetic foot ulcer intervention, developing plans to improve performance.
- Be responsible for continuous service improvement in the care of patients with complex, podiatric care needs.
- Be responsible for advance areas of work and be a source of advice/ training/ support for the High Risk Foot Team and the wider MDT.
- Develop referral pathways, Standard Operating Procedures and Clinical Standards to ensure current and safe clinical practice.
- Be responsible for maintaining clinical stock levels within a limited budget.
