Clinical Specialist Practitioner for Surgical Site Infection (SSI) Surveillance
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-driven practitioner to join our Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team as a Clinical Specialist Practitioner for Surgical Site Infection (SSI) Surveillance.
Working under the direction of the SSI Surveillance Practitioner and Matron for IPC, you will play a key role in monitoring, detecting, investigating, and reporting surgical site infections and other healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) across the Trust. Using standardised UKHSA surveillance methodology, you will help identify infection trends, support outbreak investigations, and drive infection prevention initiatives across surgical and perioperative services.
This role suits someone with a background in surgery, theatres, or infection prevention and control who has strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to work autonomously across a busy acute Trust.
