Clinical Specialists | Medical Device Conformity Assessment | Ad Hoc Contractor | UK Based
Cure Talent are delighted to be partnered with a growing medical device certification organisation that is expanding its clinical assessment capability across additional medical device technologies.
As part of this expansion, we are looking to speak with experienced clinicians who could provide independent specialist input into future medical device conformity assessments on an ad hoc basis.
The organisation is currently building and evidencing its clinical capability as part of its designation process and is particularly interested in specialists within:
- General Surgery
- Plastic Surgery
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Reproductive Medicine
- Orthopaedics
- Rehabilitation Medicine
The Role
These positions are designed for established clinical specialists who can provide authoritative clinical judgement within their area of practice.
Depending on your specialty and the device being assessed, you may be asked to:
- Provide independent specialist clinical input into medical device assessments.
- Assess whether intended use, indications, contraindications and clinical claims are appropriate.
- Review clinical evidence from the perspective of current clinical practice.
- Evaluate clinical benefits, risks and real-world use of the technology.
- Provide specialist input where technical or regulatory reviewers require clinical expertise.
- Identify where clinical evidence does not adequately support the manufacturer's conclusions.
- Clearly document and communicate your independent professional judgement.

Who We Are Looking For
You will need:
- A relevant medical or clinical degree and appropriate professional qualifications.
- Significant specialist experience within one or more of the clinical areas above.
- Current or substantial recent clinical experience relevant to your specialty.
- Demonstrable depth of expertise within the procedures, treatments or technologies associated with your specialist area.
- The ability to assess clinical evidence objectively and reach clear, defensible conclusions.
- The ability to evidence your expertise through qualifications, clinical practice, procedures, research, publications or other relevant professional experience.

Previous experience with Medical Devices, clinical research, clinical evaluation, advisory work, conformity assessment or regulatory activity would be advantageous but is not essential where substantial clinical expertise can be demonstrated.
Contract Arrangement
This is an ad hoc contractor opportunity rather than a full-time clinical position.
Successful specialists will complete the organisation's competence and evidence-onboarding process now so they can form part of the relevant specialist pool for its designation process.
There is no guaranteed volume of work and it may be six months or more before paid assignments become available. Future assignments will depend on successful designation, customer demand, your specialist area and your availability.
The arrangement is specifically intended to work alongside existing clinical practice, consultancy, academic or other professional commitments.
Rates are flexible and will depend on experience and specialist expertise.
