Job Summary
B8a Clinical Service Manager - Adult Speech and Language Therapy
Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a passion for leadership, service development, and managing high-performing teams? We are seeking a Clinical Service Manager to provide operational and professional leadership for our Head and Neck Cancer and ENT pathways, while contributing to the leadership and strategic development of the wider Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead service development, workforce planning, quality improvement, and innovation within one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the UK. Working closely with clinical leads, multidisciplinary teams, and senior leaders, you will play a key role in shaping future services, supporting staff development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
Why You Should Join Our Team
This is a unique opportunity to lead and influence services across some of the Trust's most complex and high-profile Speech and Language Therapy pathways. Rather than focusing on direct clinical delivery, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Head and Neck Cancer and ENT services through strategic leadership, workforce development, service transformation, and quality improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
