Job Opportunity: Clinical Support Worker
A vacancy has arisen for a compassionate and caring clinical support worker to join the team in the elderly care unit at Furness General Hospital, specializing in the care of the older person.
Role Overview
You must be motivated, flexible, and committed to the highest standards of quality patient care.
Duties
- Work on a roster basis which covers weekends.
- Work within a dynamic and motivated team to provide high-standard patient care to our frailty patients.
- Report to the nurse responsible for the care of the patient.
- Work within a team and report to unit managers.
- General daily duties providing patient care for the older person.
- Provide washing, dressing, and enrichments to the older patients while they are in the hospital.

Our Hospitals
We operate from three main hospitals:
- Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow
- Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI)
- Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal
We also have several community healthcare premises, including:
- Millom Hospital and GP Practice
- Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe
- Ulverston Community Health Centre
FGH and RLI have a range of general hospital services, with full emergency departments, critical/coronary care units, and various consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of general hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case, and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
