Clinical Support Worker
The Radiology Department at the Furness General Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker to join our friendly team supporting our service.
About You
Applicants will be expected to be well organised, have excellent communication skills and familiarity with IT systems. Ideally, you will have experience of relevant work in a healthcare environment and have a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience in healthcare.
About the Role
This position will provide an exciting challenge for an active, enthusiastic, self-directed, dynamic, and empathetic team player, who enjoys working within a fast-paced hospital environment, delivering excellent patient care.
The duties will mainly involve supporting the Radiographers and Radiologists in clinical duties in Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI, and will include supporting in sterile procedures and carrying out venepuncture and cannulation.

You will also be involved in the smooth and efficient running of these services including some admin and clerical duties, for example, making appointments on the computerized Radiology Information System and liaising with wards for in-patient appointments.
Working Hours
The part-time post will involve working either 3 or 4 shifts between 8am-9pm, shifts would usually be either 9am-5pm or 8am-9pm or a mixture of both.
Our Locations
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
- FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
- WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
- All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case, and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
