Clinical Support Worker

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Support Worker to join our friendly multi-professional team in Radiology.

You must be dedicated and committed to providing a high-quality service to our patients, customers, and colleagues and have a flexible approach to working.

We are looking to recruit 2 dynamic CSWs who will rotate through both our IR suite and our Fluoroscopy suite supporting the Radiographers both clinically and with administrative tasks where necessary.

NVQ level 3 is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Applicant needs good communication skills, legible handwriting, and basic keyboard skills.

A basic knowledge of IRMER regulations would be helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to patients undergoing Radiological examinations.
• Work with the team to maintain cleanliness of the department.
• Have an awareness of contrast media used for procedures - may be need to cannulate patients.
• Assist with stock control/ordering of low cost basic consumables.
• Liaise with wards regarding inpatient appointment and preparation required for examinations.
• To assist the Consultant Radiologists during Interventional procedures.
• Explaining the procedures and assisting in dressing and un-dressing of patients as necessary.
• Assisting patients on and off the examination tables.
• Ensuring comfort of the patients whilst in the department, ensuring privacy and dignity.
• To ensure the Health and Safety of himself/herself, colleagues, patients in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act, IR17, IRMER 2017 and Wirral Hospital Fire Policy. Following other Trust Clinical Governance standards reporting any potential dangerous hazards to line manager.
• Making suggestions to department protocols and procedures.
• Adherence to Trust policies and protocols.
