Job Summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic and self-motivated Band 3 Clinical Support Workers to join the Skin Cancer Nursing team. These are new and interesting roles working within supportive and experienced teams based at Chapel Allerton Hospital.
One position would be based within the Skin Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team and one position would be based within the Skin Cancer Nurse Practitioner (NP) team.
The roles would encompass the undertaking of “direct to surgery” (DTS) telephone clinics and Portasana clinics.
What You Will Bring To The Role
A DTS clinic involves telephoning a patient to explain the plan for surgery for a potential skin cancer. The surgical plan is pre-decided by a Consultant Dermatologist prior to the clinic. The telephone call would entail taking a short history of the potential skin cancer and some other important health questions. This information would then be recorded onto the patient’s health record. A surgical booking form would then be completed for the patient.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
A Portasana clinic involves extrapolating specific patient information from a personal health record app and completing a surgical booking form for a patient with a suspected skin cancer.
In addition to the above, the roles would include supporting the Skin Cancer CNS and NP teams with administration duties and the coordination of patient care.
