Role of the Clinical Systems Analyst

The role of the Clinical Systems Analyst is to provide and apply specialist knowledge in the configuration of clinical systems. The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing management and development of SystmOne units for a given number of clinical services. They will be required to work closely with operational staff to facilitate and configure changes and enhancements to the system, as well as meeting and complying with HCT SystmOne standards and organisational policies & procedures.

The Clinical Systems Analyst will be expected to develop a high level of SystmOne expertise to ensure the best use of SystmOne functionality, using highly developed analytical skills to identify any conflicting impacts (including on other units within the system) and gaps in processes and system functionality

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse clinical workflows and design/implement SystmOne configurations to support service needs.
  • Deliver system changes, projects and deployments on time, including documentation, testing and sign‑off.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clinical services and communicate complex system information clearly.
  • Identify and escalate clinical risks, ensuring compliance with IG, safety and national standards.
  • Support data quality, reporting requirements, audits and mapping to national datasets.
  • Collaborate with training, reporting, IT and clinical teams to ensure successful change delivery.
  • Promote continuous improvement, service development and high‑quality patient‑focused system use.
