Role Purpose

The post holder will support the Trust in its delivery and development of high quality teaching in Paediatrics. This will be mainly to undergraduate medical students of Imperial College, London, which is a corporate strategic aim, and Medical School requirement. This post has a developmental role and will be organizational, aspirational, involve curriculum planning, as well as direct delivery of Teaching.

It is expected that the post holder will combine clinical practice, teaching and research in medical education to develop their portfolio of skills. The post holder would be expected to register or already be registered to complete a Master of Arts in Clinical Education or equivalent education degree. This post will support the holder to develop an impressive post-graduate educational portfolio and degree qualification. The opportunity to achieve a higher postgraduate degree is also possible by extending the initial one-year contract. Assessment for this aptitude in the successful candidate would be made from interview

A key aspect is to engage the Consultant Teachers in the delivery of the undergraduate learning outcomes for Paeds and taking forward a key aim of developing and refining educational tools for sustaining regular high quality multidisciplinary teaching within the Department. We encourage educational research projects, supervised by the DCS and UGLOG (with partners), and on-going collection of quality feedback data. The post holder will be expected to publish peer reviewed articles, and present Trust data at a national or international meeting.
