Clinical Team Leader Opportunity at Harbour Ward, St Ann's Hospital
We are seeking a Clinical Team Leader to join Harbour Ward at St Ann's Hospital. This is a leadership role with great opportunities to demonstrate your knowledge and abilities, whilst continually improving services and providing hands-on care to service users.
There are 2 roles available: one permanent and one fixed-term for 12 months Maternity Cover.
About Harbour Ward
Harbour Ward: a 16-bedded male treatment ward, providing treatment and care for a wide range of mental health illnesses such as: Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety, and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. The age of the patients ranges from 18 to 64.
The multi-disciplinary team on Harbour are supportive, knowledgeable, and have wide-ranging skills to:
- Treat informal patients and those detained under the Mental Health Act using positive engagement, talking therapies (CBT/DBT) and medicines
- Place the patient front and center in their recovery journey
- Engage creatively with patients to co-produce their individual care plans
- Prioritize both mental and physical health wellness
- Help patients get active, eat well, and take care of their own wellbeing
- Promote freedom of choice and least restrictive practice, in a safe and therapeutic environment
Role Responsibilities
Clinical Team Leaders undertake a dual clinical and leadership role, acting as a deputy for the Ward Manager.

- They play a key role in the day-to-day management of the ward
- They are a main point of contact for advice/decisions
- They will support, supervise, and manage staff
- They also assist in the delivery of local and nationally required outcomes and will often be given a lead role to manage in their own right
Requirements
- Experience as an RMN
- Completion of your supervisor and assessor training
- Undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course
- Successful completion of all aspects of this course is a condition of your employment
This is a fixed-term role, and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.
