Job Overview
The Clinical Theatre Equipment and Improvement Lead is a senior clinical, operational and transformational role responsible for the strategic, operational and governance management of theatre equipment and managed service arrangements across theatres. The post holder will provide clinical day-to-day management and specialist leadership, ensuring equipment readiness, safe theatre flow, resilience across both hospital sites, and effective delivery of equipment requirements linked to current services, continuous improvement and future transformation.
The role will support implementation of the HTP theatre model by leading equipment gap analysis, asset planning, procurement coordination, supplier engagement, capital equipment preparation and readiness assurance for service moves between PRH and RSH. The post holder will liaise with key stakeholders across the trust to ensure that equipment plans are safe, affordable, deliverable and aligned to future clinical pathways.

Main duties of the job
- Provide Band 7 specialist leadership for theatre equipment services, ensuring safe, effective and efficient support to theatre teams.
- Lead equipment readiness for HTP and service change, including planning, risk management, asset tracking, escalation and assurance.
- Manage governance arrangements for theatre equipment, medical devices, stock, procurement, maintenance, decontamination and supplier performance.
- Act as a specialist point of advice on theatre equipment, consumables, loan kit, managed services and asset lifecycle planning.
- Analyse complex operational, financial and supplier information to support decision-making, service improvement and business planning.
- Work collaboratively with clinical, operational, corporate, supplier and transformation teams to support consistent cross-site service delivery.
- Maintain accurate reports, records, action trackers and risk logs for governance, divisional and transformation meetings.
- Work autonomously across Trust sites, promoting patient safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
