Clinical Trial Manager

Location: Remote, UK

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

BioTalent is supporting a growing CRO in the search for a Clinical Trial Manager to join its Clinical Operations team.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of clinical studies across traditional, hybrid and decentralised trial models, working closely with sponsors, investigators and cross-functional teams to ensure successful study delivery. The successful candidate will take ownership of study management activities from start-up through to close-out, acting as a key operational lead and ensuring studies are delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational delivery of Phase I-IV clinical trials from study start-up through to close-out
  • Act as the primary point of contact for sponsors and key study stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain study timelines, project plans and risk management strategies
  • Oversee study progress, milestones and deliverables to ensure successful execution
  • Manage study budgets, forecasts and resource allocation
  • Coordinate cross-functional study teams, including CRAs, regulatory, data management and vendor partners
  • Oversee site performance, enrolment, recruitment and retention activities
  • Identify study risks and implement mitigation plans to minimise delays and operational challenges
  • Ensure studies are conducted in accordance with protocol, ICH-GCP, SOPs and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Review and approve key study documentation, reports and trial deliverables
  • Support investigator meetings, sponsor meetings and study governance activities
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams, vendors and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational excellence initiatives

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience working as a Clinical Trial Manager within a CRO, biotech or pharmaceutical environment
  • Experience managing Phase I-III clinical trials, with exposure to Phase IV studies preferred
  • Good understanding of decentralised (DCT) and hybrid clinical trial delivery models
  • Experience working within global study teams across multiple regions
  • Previous experience working within a CRO and/or clinical research vendor environment
  • Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP and applicable clinical trial regulations
  • Experience managing multiple studies simultaneously
  • Strong project management, planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience managing external vendors and study partners
  • Ability to work independently within a remote environment
  • Full right to work in the UK
