Job Opportunity: Clinical or Counselling Psychologist in the Facial Pain Team
This post offers an exciting opportunity to work in the Facial Pain Team within the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals Division of University College London NHS Foundation Trust.
About the Role
The post holder will work alongside other clinical psychologists, physiotherapists, nursing, medical, and administrative colleagues within a small, vibrant, and supportive multidisciplinary team to improve the quality of life of individuals experiencing persistent facial pain.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage therapeutically with individuals to improve their quality of life in the presence of facial pain in individual sessions, assessments, and within Pain Management Programmes.
- Supervise clinical psychologists in training.
- Provide teaching.
- Become involved in Schwartz Rounds within the Division.
Essential Requirements
- Experience of working with people with persistent pain in pain management programmes is essential.
- Supervision is provided by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
Desired Skills and Qualities
- Enthusiastic clinical or counselling psychologist with well-developed skills in engaging people, communication, and team working.
- Ability to develop patient-centred treatment plans.
- Capacity to respond adaptively to feedback and address obstacles and setbacks creatively.
- Interested in reflective practice both in their daily clinical work and as regards continued professional development with the team.
