Job Opportunity
Tayside Psychological Therapies Service is looking to appoint to a Band 8a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist post for 1.0 wte for the Tayside Area. The post will currently be mainly based within Learning Disabilities Psychological Therapies Service at the Strathmartine Centre, Dundee but travel across Tayside area is an expected aspect of the role. (Base currently under review and may be subject to change). The applicant should be committed to delivering high quality and effective psychological services for adults with a learning disability.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychological assessment, treatment and consultation to adults with learning disabilities, carers and families in the Tayside Region.
- Work within forensic, community, outpatient and day service settings for delivery of individual and group interventions.
- Take a lead role in assessment and the formulation of complex cases within the context of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
- Provide consultation and supervision to other staff members and multi-disciplinary colleagues.
- Contribute to an established training agenda.

Requirements
- Completed post-graduate Doctoral level training in Clinical/Forensic Psychology/or be due to complete in 2026.
- Eligible for registration with the Health Professions Council and for Chartered Status with the British Psychological Society.
Work Environment
The Learning Disability Service is a friendly and supportive work environment. The Learning Disability Psychology section interests include: Trauma, Parenting, Behaviour Family Therapy and Dementia.
Hours of Work
36 hours per week.
