Counter Lead

The Counter Lead is responsible for supporting their Brand in driving sales turnover and market share through consistently remaining consumer-focused.

They are accountable for achieving this by:

  • Reflecting a credible and professional Brand image to all internal and external consumers at all times
  • Maximising sales through high-level selling, providing excellent service and maintaining retail standards
  • Contributing to efficiencies through strict adherence to store/Brand/Company Procedures and guidelines
  • Staying updated with daily/weekly targets
  • Ensuring personal awareness of all additional sales avenues, including:
    • Eventing
    • Omni-commerce
    • Digital channels
    • Competitor activities
    • Missed opportunities
  • Effectively managing social media, leveraging opportunities to drive the business and protect/enhance the Brand image
  • Delivering the Brand Strategy, ensuring the delivery of an effective local plan

Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Brand Leadership

  • Plan and implement local marketing & events initiatives, aligned with Retailer activity
  • Deliver excellence in service execution by:
    • Ensuring measures are in place to continually improve service levels
    • Fostering a zero consumer complaints mindset and nurturing a surprise and delight culture
  • Act as an Ambassador for the Brand, leading in representing and embodying Brand values
  • Manage all refunds and complaints in line with Company guidelines, ensuring satisfactory resolutions and consulting the Area Manager where needed
  • Use digital tools to maintain updated knowledge and expertise

  • Deliver a consumer recruitment and retention strategy, growing a loyal consumer base
  • Develop up-to-date product knowledge to ensure an industry-leading experience and align the product with consumer needs

Operations

  • Plan and ensure excellent standards in all areas:
    • Product presentation
    • Housekeeping
    • Displays & messaging
    • Pricing
  • Conduct daily retail standards reviews to maintain required levels
  • Oversee deliveries, stock movements, and associated administration within agreed Company timeframes
  • Ensure auditable processes comply with Company guidelines, taking corrective action in high-risk areas
  • Fulfil all information requests accurately and within deadlines
  • Minimise stock loss by correctly implementing and following Company Security Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain a safe working environment for consumers, adhering to Company and Retailer Policies and Procedures
  • Achieve minimum ‘Acceptable’ grading in all health & safety and operational audits

Commercial

  • Manage daily replenishment, taking corrective action when necessary
  • Maximise sales performance by leveraging commercial reports for informed decisions
  • Plan and deliver visual merchandising layouts according to guidelines and within set timescales
  • Identify stock packaging issues, taking corrective action and escalating to the Area Manager when out of direct control
  • Effectively manage all promotions and discounts as per Company guidelines
  • Identify trends and performance insights, making suggestions to enhance product performance

Requirements

  • Experience in a fast-paced retail and/or consumer-facing environment
  • Strong self-development drive
  • Commercial understanding of the industry
  • Exceptional communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills
