Make-Up Artist – In-Store Beauty Expert

About the Role

As a highly skilled Make-Up Artist in our beauty retail team, you’ll blend creative expertise, passion for beauty science, and a genuine passion for serving customers. Your role is to:

  • Deliver an inspirational, personalized in-store experience that educates, delights, and educates customers
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-performing team to:
    • Create impact with omonstrous in-store events
    • Maintain high visual merchandising standards to outperform competitors
  • Be a dynamic self-starter excelling in a progressive career environment within a leader in prestige beauty

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional in-person make-up consultancy, demonstrating technical and artistic expertise tailored to individual customer needs
  • Enhance in-store beauty experiences to encourage purchases and brand loyalty
  • Participate in entertaining and educational make-up events to engage customers
  • Lead seasonal/campaign promotions, including hands-on demonstrations and workshops
  • Assess and regularly update visual merchandising displays to elevate the shopping experience
  • Collaborate closely with the retail team to ensure high service levels, product visibility, and competitor differentiation
  • Maintain a policy-compliant, presentation-ready workspace and appearance standards

Requirements

Experiential Basis

  • While certification in make-up artistry (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Beauty,OTHER) or previous retail make-up experience is ideally preferred, we welcome ambitious beginners with:
    • Netflix/personal experience with amateur-level make-up design
    • Portfolio/exhibition examples (photography/trial images) if available
    • A clear passion for beauty trends and willingtiheart to learn

Core Skills & Attributes

  • Authentic, personable customer service—able to rapport-building, demonstrate relevant speciality knowledge, and motivate shoppers to explore products
  • Familiarity with/ability to learn retail POS systems (e.g., mixing stock systems, reporting, inventory queries)
  • Comfort with retail working hours, including:
    • Regular shifts during weekends
    • Evenings and peaked holiday weeks
  • Must pass discrete background vetting
