Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Clothing Designer specializing in Knitwear, based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom.
The Clothing Designer will develop and design knitwear collections aligned with fashion direction and market trends, including concept creation, sketching, and technical design.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting yarns and textiles, creating detailed technical packs, collaborating with pattern cutters and sample rooms, and overseeing fittings to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams such as product development, merchandising, and production to meet timelines and quality standards, as well as researching trends, colors, and silhouettes to keep collections current and commercially viable.
- The designer will also contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and maintain clear documentation to support communication with manufacturing teams.

- Strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, with a proven focus on knitwear design and commercial collections.
- Proficiency in Textiles and knitwear materials, including understanding yarn types, fabric structures, and performance characteristics.
- Practical experience in Fitting, pattern review, and garment construction to ensure accurate silhouette, comfort, and quality.
- Embroidery and surface embellishment skills to enhance knitwear designs and align with brand aesthetics.
- Relevant experience in apparel or knitwear design within fashion or retail environments; footwear and accessories exposure is a plus.
- Ability to use design and technical tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD or knitwear design software) and to prepare clear tech packs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional and manufacturing teams, including overseas partners.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management abilities, and capacity to manage multiple projects to deadlines.
- Formal education in Fashion Design, Textiles, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
