Role Description
The CLOTHING TECHNICIAN – Specialized in Denim will support the development, fitting, and production of denim apparel for Grand Step’s fashion lines. This part-time hybrid role is based in England, United Kingdom, with a mix of on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility.

Responsibilities
- Interpreting design specifications
- Creating and reviewing technical packs
- Conducting garment fittings
- Ensuring accurate construction details, measurements, and finishing techniques for denim products
Collaboration
- Collaborate with designers, pattern makers, and production teams to resolve technical issues, optimize fit and comfort, and maintain quality and consistency across styles
- Monitor sample approvals
- Support factory communication on denim-specific processes (e.g., washing, distressing, finishing)
- Contribute to continuous improvement in product quality and efficiency
Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in denim apparel, including garment construction, pattern interpretation, grading, and finishing techniques.
- Experience: Experience preparing and reviewing technical specifications, size charts, measurement sheets, and fit comments for woven and denim garments.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of denim fabric types, washes, treatments, and performance characteristics, with the ability to advise on suitability and quality standards.
- Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with design, product development, and production teams, and to communicate clearly with factories and suppliers.
- Attention to Detail: Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the capacity to identify and correct technical issues during sampling and production.
- Experience: Prior experience as a clothing technician, garment technologist, or similar role within apparel manufacturing or fashion retail, ideally with a denim focus.
- Digital Tools: Proficiency in basic digital tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, shared documents); familiarity with PLM or pattern software is an advantage.
- Work Environment: Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment with part-time hours in England, United Kingdom.
