Role Description
The Clothing Technologist will support the development and refinement of garments from initial concept through to bulk production, ensuring products meet fit, quality, and performance standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Reviewing technical specifications
- Assessing garment construction
- Working closely with design and production teams to resolve technical issues
- Overseeing fittings
- Providing clear feedback to pattern cutters and suppliers
- Monitoring quality control processes across samples and production runs
- Evaluating textiles for suitability, durability, and compliance with company standards
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation

This is a temporary, hybrid role based in England, United Kingdom, with a mix of on-site work in London and the East Midlands and some work from home. Ideally you will be Located in the East Midlands or South East.

Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in garment construction and fitting, with the ability to interpret patterns, technical drawings, and size specifications.
- Knowledge of quality control principles and processes, including garment inspection, tolerance checking, and production monitoring.
- Understanding of textiles, fabric performance, and material properties relevant to different garment types and end uses.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with design, production, suppliers, and other stakeholders, providing clear technical feedback and documentation.
- Experience in clothing technology, product development, or a similar apparel-focused role; a relevant qualification in Fashion Technology, Textile Science, or a related field is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with garment testing standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices is an advantage.
- Proficiency with basic office software and, ideally, garment-related tools (e.g., PLM systems, spec sheet templates).
- Strong IT skills
