Cloud Architect (Azure / AWS) - London / Bracknell / Birmingham / Leeds / Manchester / Livingston - Hybrid - SCC Flex Contract
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with expertise in Azure and/or AWS to support high-profile transformation and cloud modernisation initiatives across complex enterprise environments. This is an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Architect to join a dynamic client programme, driving the design, governance and delivery of secure, scalable and resilient cloud solutions.
The successful Cloud Architect will play a key role in shaping cloud strategy, defining target architectures, and enabling organisations to realise the full value of cloud technologies while maintaining security, compliance and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities as the Cloud Architect:
- Design and deliver enterprise-scale cloud architecture solutions across Azure and/or AWS environments.
- Develop and maintain cloud strategies, target operating models and architecture roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
- Lead the design of secure, scalable and highly available cloud platforms and services.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, data and DevOps teams to deliver cloud transformation programmes.
- Architect hybrid and multi-cloud solutions that support business continuity, resilience and operational efficiency.
- Ensure cloud solutions align with organisational governance, security, compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Drive cloud adoption and modernisation initiatives, including application migration and cloud-native transformation.
- Provide architectural guidance on networking, identity, storage, compute, security and platform services.
- Define and promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation and DevOps best practices across cloud environments.
- Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments and design assurance activities.
- Support cost optimisation, performance improvement and operational excellence initiatives within cloud platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and project teams.
- Contribute to strategic technology planning, innovation initiatives and enterprise architecture governance.

As a successful Cloud Architect, you will have:
- Proven experience working as a Cloud Architect within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions across Azure and/or AWS platforms.
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, landing zones, governance frameworks and best practices.
- Experience designing hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, identity and access management, security and resilience principles.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates or AWS CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and cloud automation frameworks.
- Understanding of cloud migration strategies, cloud-native architectures and application modernisation.
- Experience implementing security controls and ensuring compliance within regulated environments.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience producing high and low-level architecture designs, technical documentation and governance artefacts.
- Relevant cloud certifications such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent are highly desirable.
