Role Overview

The Cloud Architect is responsible for analysing existing on-premise systems and designing, planning, and supporting their migration into a secure, scalable, and cloud-native environment. The role focuses on modernising architectures, leveraging managed services, and ensuring migrations deliver measurable business and technical benefits, while working closely with technical stakeholders across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery & Analysis

  • Analyse existing on-premise infrastructure, applications, and integrations, including compute, storage, networking, security, and operational processes.
  • Classify workloads using recognised migration strategies (e.g. 6Rs: Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire, Retain, Replace).
  • Capture non-functional requirements including availability, performance, security, compliance, and cost considerations.

Cloud Architecture & Design

  • Design target-state architectures aligned with cloud-native best practices.
  • Define architectures leveraging AWS services such as: Compute, Networking, Storage & Data, Security, and Observability.
  • Produce clear architecture artefacts including diagrams, ADRs, migration runbooks, and landing zone designs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
