Cloud / Solutions Architect - Outside IR35 Contract
Location: London
Up to £650 per day
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cloud / Solutions Architect to design and deliver scalable, secure and resilient technology solutions across a complex enterprise environment.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience across AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, combined with a strong background in Technical or Solutions Architecture. Experience working within Government, public sector or international trade environments would be highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of complex cloud and technology solutions.
- Develop high-level and detailed architecture designs aligned to business and technical requirements.
- Define cloud strategies, architectures and technology roadmaps across AWS and/or Azure.
- Work with engineering, infrastructure, security, data and delivery teams to ensure solutions are technically robust and scalable.
- Evaluate existing platforms and identify opportunities for cloud migration, modernisation and optimisation.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements for security, resilience, scalability, performance and compliance.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, from initial requirements and design through implementation and delivery.
- Produce architecture documentation, technical standards and design artefacts.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to communicate architectural decisions, risks, dependencies and recommendations.
- Support governance and technical assurance processes, ensuring solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards.

Essential Experience
- 10+ years' experience in Cloud / Technology, with strong hands-on exposure to AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- 5+ years' experience in Technical Architecture or Solutions Architecture.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, integration and application architecture.
- Experience working across complex technology environments with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Strong experience producing HLDs, LLDs, architecture diagrams and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience
- Experience within Government or Public Sector environments.
- Experience within International Trade or trade-related technology.
- Knowledge of government technology standards, security requirements and governance frameworks.
- Experience with cloud migration and transformation programmes.
- AWS or Microsoft Azure architecture certifications.
- Experience working within regulated or highly secure environments.
