Cloud Backup & Recovery Consultant

About the role

We’re hiring a Cloud Backup & Recovery Consultant to help customers implement, automate and validate data protection and recovery solutions across public-cloud and hybrid environments.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role combining cloud engineering with backup and disaster recovery. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their requirements, deliver technical solutions and test that workloads can be recovered when needed.

Public-cloud delivery experience is essential. A strong background in on-premises backup is valuable, but we’re looking for consultants whose experience extends into cloud-native services, cloud infrastructure and automation.

Strong expertise in AWS, Azure or GCP is welcome, you do not need to be an expert in all three.

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering cloud-native backup and disaster recovery implementations, from understanding customer requirements through to configuration, testing and handover.
  • Integrating solutions with customer cloud environments, addressing networking, storage, security, identity and access management, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Building scripts and automation to streamline deployments, integrations and customer onboarding at scale.
  • Configuring and validating protection for virtualised infrastructure, databases, NAS/file workloads and SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365.
  • Troubleshooting backup and recovery issues, identifying application dependencies, and producing clear technical documentation and recovery procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
