Cloud Consultant – VMware / Hyper-V
Remote / Home Based
Bonus + Benefits
Approx. 70% Remote / 30% Customer Site
I’m working with a growing technology business that is looking to add an experienced Cloud & Infrastructure Consultant to its team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong infrastructure background who enjoys a mix of project delivery, cloud & virtualisation, migrations, and senior-level technical support. You’ll be working across customer environments, designing and deploying infrastructure solutions while also acting as a senior technical escalation point for more complex issues.
What you’ll be getting involved in:
- Designing and deploying VMware & Hyper-V environments
- Complex virtualisation and infrastructure migrations
- Producing Low Level Designs and technical documentation
- Server, storage, backup & disaster recovery solutions
- Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy & RDS
- Networking, switching, routing & firewall technologies
- Supporting and improving existing customer infrastructure
- Technical onboarding and transition of new customers
- 3rd/4th line troubleshooting and escalations
- Mentoring and upskilling 1st & 2nd line engineers
- Working within ITIL / Change Management environments

What we’re looking for:
- ✅ Strong VMware ESXi / vCenter experience
- ✅ Strong Hyper-V experience
- ✅ Experience delivering complex infrastructure migrations
- ✅ Good server & storage knowledge – ideally HPE / Dell
- ✅ Understanding of networking, firewalls, L2/L3 & routing
- ✅ Strong Windows infrastructure experience
- ✅ Customer-facing consultancy/project delivery experience
- ✅ Excellent documentation and communication skills
- ✅ A self-starter comfortable managing their own workload

Experience with Nutanix, HCI, Azure/AWS, Veeam, PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform would be a big advantage.
Due to the environments involved, candidates must also be able to meet the required BPSS and SC security clearance requirements.
