Key Responsibilities
- Lead comparative assessment of leading cloud database platforms against scalability, consistency, and cost requirements
- Recommend the target platform and define the migration timing approach
- Define the target-state architecture, including elastic scaling, managed services, and observability design
- Produce the migration blueprint and the implementation-ready design pack
- Identify required proofs of concept and their success criteria before implementation is greenlit
- Present complex platform trade-offs in clear, well-argued written form suitable for client and executive decision-making

Required Skills & Experience
- 8-10+ years in cloud data architecture, with substantial hands-on experience on a major hyperscaler platform (e.g., Google Cloud, including globally-distributed database services) at production scale
- Proven track record designing migration paths from legacy relational databases to cloud-native equivalents on complex, high-stakes engagements
- Strong grasp of global consistency, horizontal scalability, and managed-service trade-offs
- Sharp written and verbal communication skills — must produce implementation-ready design documentation and executive-ready recommendation reports, not just technical notes
