Your Role
As a DevEx (Developer Experience) Consultant at Capgemini Invent, you will be part of the Cloud Advisory unit within the Business Technology capability. We are seeking Developer Experience Consultants and Senior Consultants who can lead initiatives focused on improving developer workflows and productivity. This role combines technical expertise with developer advocacy, applying best practices in tooling, automation, and process optimisation. A proactive approach to identifying pain points and delivering scalable solutions is required.
Key Responsibilities
You will play a critical role in:
- Leading efforts to streamline developer workflows, reduce friction, and improve developer experience.
- Applying Lean principles and Value Stream Mapping to optimise processes and eliminate waste.
- Implementing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines and automation with a developer-first mindset.
- Supporting developer onboarding to create frictionless environments, ensuring smooth setup and minimal delays.
- Driving implementation of developer productivity tools, including IDEs, code repositories, build systems, and artifact management solutions.
- Defining and tracking developer experience metrics (DORA, SPACE) to inform continuous improvements.
- Introducing and integrating AI-powered tools for code assistance, automated testing, and intelligent workflows.
- Collaborating with engineering, product, and platform teams to deliver cohesive solutions prioritising developer needs.
Key Expectations

DevEx Consultant (Entry/Intermediate Level): Lead a stream of work, produce high-quality deliverables, and provide key input shaping strategic direction while supporting proposition design.

Senior Consultant: Design and lead projects/multiple streams, taking ownership of elements within the proposition.

Managing Consultant: Contribute to the growth and success of a top-tier consulting practice, influencing:
- Market offers & knowledge development
- Overall strategic goals of the practice
- Annual consulting sales in excess of £500,000

Your Profile
You are a strategic thinker and hands-on problem solver who thrives in client-facing environments, excelling at bridging the gap between business and technology. We are looking for candidates with:
- A solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and developer tooling ecosystems, including:
- Common developer tools and version control systems
- Experience in developer onboarding and enablement programs, ensuring efficient and smooth setups.
- Familiarity with developer experience metrics and the ability to act on insights for measurable improvements.
- Exposure to AI tools for DevEx and emerging trends in developer productivity.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to advocate for developer needs and influence engineering culture.
- The ability to work independently on small projects and contribute to larger transformation programs.
Security Clearance Requirement
To be successfully appointed, you must obtain:
- Security Check (SC) clearance.
- Requires continuous UK residence for the past 5 years (among other criteria).
- Questions on eligibility (e.g., country of residence, nationality) will be asked during recruitment.
