About The Role

Vivo Talent is collaborating with a rapidly expanding organization that has experienced significant growth over the past nine months. The company is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in transforming and modernizing the organization’s cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on Azure cloud platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing cloud environments, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and efficient. As a key contributor to the organization’s cloud strategy, the Senior Cloud Engineer will lead initiatives such as cloud migration, re-platforming, and automation, fostering a culture of DevOps and Infrastructure as Code. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Azure specialist eager to make a significant impact within a forward-thinking organization, working in a hybrid environment based in Cardiff on a permanent basis.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in cloud engineering with proven experience in Azure cloud services. Essential qualifications include hands-on expertise in designing and managing Azure infrastructure, along with a solid understanding of DevOps practices. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep or Terraform is required, as well as experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Strong scripting and automation skills are necessary to streamline deployment processes and operational workflows. A relevant professional certification, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer, is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to thrive within a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure to meet organizational requirements.
  • Lead cloud migration projects, including re-platforming and re-provisioning of critical infrastructure components.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Bicep and/or Terraform to ensure repeatability and consistency across environments.
  • Create, enhance, and manage Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Support containerization strategies by implementing Docker and Kubernetes solutions for scalable and portable applications.
  • Automate deployment workflows and operational tasks to improve efficiency, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement best practices.
  • Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance to ensure high availability and security.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
