Job Title
Company Overview
My client is one of England's largest not-for-profits, and they are partway through a serious technology transformation, and the infrastructure team is being rebuilt around project and platform work rather than firefighting.
Role Summary
You have spent years pulling legacy on-prem estates into Azure, and you know the messy middle of that journey better than the tidy end. This is a build role in exactly that world: a large hybrid environment mid-consolidation, moving as much as sensibly can into a single modern Azure core while the on-prem side keeps running.

Key Responsibilities
- Designing and delivering Azure infrastructure across a live hybrid estate, owning solutions from design through build to handover
- Integrating cleanly with on-prem: Active Directory, DNS, networking, core compute, and hosting
- Building with infrastructure-as-code and automation so environments are repeatable and supportable
- Working on hybrid connectivity and migration patterns as workloads move into Azure
- Helping mature the cloud standards and reusable patterns the team builds from

Required Skills and Experience
- Real hands-on Azure delivery, designing and building infrastructure rather than just operating it
- A solid on-prem grounding (Active Directory, Windows Server, DNS, networking fundamentals) from before you moved to cloud
- Experience delivering on-prem to Azure migration or hybrid modernisation
- Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Bicep
- Someone who builds it themselves and is honest about what they know and what they do not
Useful, Not Essential
- Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700)
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
