About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic IT consultancy based in Glasgow. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a hybrid work environment, combining the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of on-site collaboration. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for managing cloud migration projects, automating deployment processes, and providing ongoing technical support to ensure optimal cloud performance and security. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across various industries, tackling complex cloud challenges, and contributing to innovative modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft Azure, enjoy working directly with clients, and take ownership of technical projects from inception to completion.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience working with Microsoft Azure in a commercial setting. Relevant certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-700 are highly desirable. A solid understanding of Azure networking components, including VNets, VPNs, NSGs, and private endpoints, is essential. Familiarity with identity and access management tools like Entra ID, Conditional Access, and role-based access control is required. Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, and hybrid infrastructure solutions is advantageous. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep, along with scripting skills in PowerShell or similar automation languages, is necessary. Candidates should have a good grasp of cloud security principles, monitoring, backup strategies, and disaster recovery protocols. Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, and customer communication skills are vital. Previous experience within an MSP or IT consultancy environment will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Azure environments tailored to client needs. This includes building and managing Azure infrastructure components such as virtual machines, networking, storage, and identity services. You will lead cloud migration and modernization projects, ensuring seamless transitions and optimized architectures. Supporting Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune environments forms a core part of your duties. You will implement security measures, monitoring solutions, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans to safeguard client data and infrastructure. Automating deployment processes and operational tasks using PowerShell or Azure DevOps will be key to improving efficiency. Producing comprehensive technical documentation, including build guides and handover materials, is essential for project continuity. Troubleshooting complex cloud and infrastructure issues will require analytical skills and proactive problem-solving. You will work closely with clients to gather requirements, recommend suitable solutions, and collaborate with architects, project managers, and support teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £60,000, commensurate with experience. The position provides a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility between remote work and on-site presence at the Glasgow office.
