About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Cloud Engineer to join our technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key player in the expansion of our cloud environment, contributing to the development of our execution systems, quantitative research platform, data ingestion pipelines, and post-trade applications. This hands-on role offers a unique chance to work with the latest cloud technologies and provides a high degree of autonomy and ownership in delivering impactful solutions to the business. Our Technology

Operating in a cloud-first environment, we deploy containerised workloads to AWS through managed Kubernetes and scale on-demand to satisfy burstable workloads. Other managed services we use in AWS include EMR, RDS, MSK and bespoke EC2 solutions. All infrastructure is managed through Terraform, our source code is in GitHub and automation through GH actions.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure to support various business divisions.
  • Collaborate with researchers and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver tailored solutions, with a keen eye on cost efficiency.
  • Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of cloud-based systems.
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.

What We Are Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience in AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Strong belief in the ‘Infrastructure as code’ mind-set and a solid understanding of Terraform.
  • Experience with CNCF technologies such as Argo CD, Kyverno and Prometheus.
  • Proficient with Grafana to monitor and alert on critical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

What Would Be Useful

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CNCF certificate(s) or similar.
  • Knowledge of the Go Programming and understanding of Kubernetes operators.
  • Natural curiosity and enthusiastic about using AI-assisted development tools and integrating them into daily workflow.
  • Experience of automation through GitHub Actions or similar.
