Description
MSM Technology is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Infrastructure Operations Office (IOO). The Cloud Engineer will provide cloud administration, automation, and infrastructure support across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining cloud and network infrastructure while ensuring high availability, operational efficiency, and compliance with federal security standards.
- Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud environments.
- Support Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) solution to ensure system performance, availability, and scalability.
- Write, deploy, and verify Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Design, implement, and maintain DevSecOps platforms (Jenkins, GitLab) and pipeline automation. Experience building and maintaining self-hosted GitLab is a plus.
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls in accordance with FedRAMP and federal cybersecurity requirements.
- Work cross-functionally to Develop cloud solutions, operational procedures, security policies, and automation strategies.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, NACL, etc).
- Strong experience working remotely and using tools to collaborate with team members remotely (Slack, MS Teams).
- Coordinate network hardware and software integration, upgrades, and lifecycle activities.
- Develop documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical recommendations for continuous service improvement.

- 3–5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Network Engineer, Systems Engineer, or related IT infrastructure role (Journeyman level).
Desired Qualifications
- Microsoft or AWS Certification preferred
- Experience working on an IT Operations Team (ITOps) and working in an Agile Kanban environment
- Familiarity with Service Now ticketing system
Salary Description
$80,000 - $92,000
