Job Opportunity
Damia Group is working with a leading global financial services organisation to recruit an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Platform Provisioning Engineer for a major cloud transformation programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a next-generation multi-cloud engineering team, responsible for building and evolving an enterprise cloud platform spanning GCP, AWS, Azure and on-premise environments.
The successful candidate will have a strong GCP background and play a key role in cloud platform provisioning, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes engineering and AI-assisted DevOps.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain cloud platform provisioning solutions, primarily across GCP, with the ability to work across AWS and Azure.
- Design, provision and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Build, deploy and manage Kubernetes and containerised platforms supporting resilient, cloud-native applications.
- Develop automation solutions using Python and Terraform to improve infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
- Implement and enhance automated deployment pipelines for cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Utilise AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot and Claude Code, to improve development efficiency and code quality.
- Drive automation initiatives that reduce manual intervention and improve platform consistency and reliability.
- Manage and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure using Bash and other shell/command-line tools.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture and platform teams to integrate provisioning solutions across the wider cloud estate.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of a large-scale enterprise multi-cloud platform.
- Ensure cloud environments meet security, compliance and operational best-practice standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, reliability, scalability and developer experience.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong, recent hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proven experience designing, implementing and managing platform provisioning solutions within GCP environments.
- Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong Python scripting and automation experience.
- Experience with Git and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience implementing automated infrastructure deployment and CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical experience using GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to enhance DevOps and development workflows.
- Strong command-line and Shell/Bash experience.
- Proven ability to identify and deliver automation improvements.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies.

Desirable Experience
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.
- Experience supporting multi-cloud platforms spanning GCP, AWS, Azure and on-premise infrastructure.
Contract Details
- Location: Glasgow or Bournemouth
- Working Pattern: Hybrid, typically 3–4 days onsite per week; 5 days onsite preferred where possible
- Duration: 6 months initially, with potential for extension
- Start Date: Immediate
- IR35: Inside IR35
