Cloud Engineer – Consultancy

Azure – AWS – Terraform – Kubernetes
Leeds City Centre with Hybrid Working (2 days a week in the office)
Up to £60,000 + Benefits

WRK Digital is exclusively partnering with a leading digital consultancy to recruit a Cloud Engineer. This is an opportunity for a hands-on engineer to help deliver modern cloud platforms and digital solutions for a range of high-profile clients.

You'll work as part of multidisciplinary teams building, supporting, and improving cloud-native applications and infrastructure whilst developing your expertise across cloud engineering, DevOps, automation, and software delivery.

The Role

You'll play a key role in delivering cloud solutions across a variety of client engagements. Working closely with engineers, product teams, and delivery leads, you'll help design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable cloud platforms using modern engineering practices.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, automating processes, and working across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain cloud-native platforms using AWS and/or Azure
  • Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles
  • Support containerised applications using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or similar technologies
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Assist with monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving platform reliability and performance
  • Work across the full software delivery lifecycle, contributing to both platform and application development
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to cloud architecture decisions
  • Collaborate with clients and delivery teams to deliver successful outcomes

What You'll Need

  • Commercial experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
  • Experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, or other container platforms
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with at least one backend language such as C#, Python, Node.js, or Java
  • Understanding of cloud security fundamentals, networking, and monitoring
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within collaborative teams

  • Exposure to serverless technologies such as Azure Functions or AWS Lambda
  • Experience with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
